So, daddy decided to give Simon a try of Kimchi today. If you don't know what Kimchi is, it is a VERY spicy Korean dish made of cabbage, basically pickled in red pepper. I was sure it was going to be a disaster, but.......the boy actually liked it - kept opening his mouth for more! Anna tried it too - made an awful face and guzzled some milk, then very politely said "no, thank you" when Joel asked her if she wanted more :-)

Chuck E Cheese
For our Spring Break finale, we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese for the first time. Anna has been wanting to go for a while now and she had a GREAT time! Simon wasn't all that impressed :-) We met some friends there and Joel was even able to come for a little while since he works so close.
Trying her hand at Skee Ball - she really needs some practice at this.
At one point she launched the ball up in the air and
I was sure some poor kid was gonna end up with a concussion

The Butterflies
Today we headed to Meijer Gardens with Grandma to see the Butterflies. We go every year, but it is Spring Break around here, so it was WAY crowded and a little too overwhelming for both of the kids. The butterflies were really cool, as always, and we hope to go back again when it is not so crowded.

Playing at Frog Hollow
We FINALLY had a playground worthy day around here and Frog Hollow is one of our favs. We headed out after lunch and both kids had a great time! I, however, discovered how much more work it is to have two kids who prefer to go in opposite directions :-)
Big Sis showing him how it's done
Getting himself stuck In the tunnel
Yeah, you try to get both of them to look out the holes and AT the camera at the same time!

Learning to Read...
Anna has been working really hard on learning to read. She is doing really well and even has a few books that she can read all by herself. But, usually, she prefers to sit down with one of us and we read the book with her piping in with the words she recognizes and knows. Joel snapped this photo of us reading earlier today.

Aspiring Artist
Anna loves to do crafts and any type of "artwork". I gave her little make-up applicators for something different to paint with and she went right to work creating a masterpiece.
