Children's Museum

Anna has been wanting to go the Children's Museum to see the Bob the Builder set up for a few months now. Since Bob is only there through the end of this month, I figured we'd better get there. She had great time! We even took Grandma along - she had a great time too :-)

Field Trip

Today was Anna's class field trip to the pony farm. Well, they have other animals too, but the ponies get all the glory. It was fun to see all the Kindergarteners get excited about the baby animals and even more fun to see their faces as the rode the ponies.

Getting ready to feed the ravenous goats - notice them trying to climb THROUGH the fence
Anna was in her glory riding her pony named Lucky

Simon LOVES....

balls! He is rather obsessed with them! Even things that aren't REALLY balls (i.e. melons, oranges, light bulbs, anything remotely round), he wants to throw them and is raging mad when we don't let him. I bought him these little balls from Target today and they are his new fav!

The Cupcake

Grandma and Grandpa brought these little cupcakes over for the kids (Yeah, for the kids - we won't talk about who ate most of them). It's so funny to watch Simon do things SO differently from how Anna did them. Anna always ate this type of thing very carefully. I remember Auntie Karen PUTTING frosting on Anna's nose for photo purposes, because she NEVER got messy eating. Simon, well, you can see for yourself.......

Work or Play?????

We had 5 yards of bark chips delivered today to spruce up our landscaping. Joel worked really hard getting it all out of our driveway and where it needed to be. My dad even helped. The kids, well..... they thought it was all there for their playing enjoyment :-)

On top of Mount Barkchip

She thinks she is pretty hot stuff way up there :-) She can't stand it when "stuff" gets in her shoes - she spend much of the day doing this -
Even Simon wanted in on the action
"Can I eat this?"

Goalie Pads

Joel has been asked to play Goalie for the hockey team he has been playing with. So, now he is starting to acquire MORE hockey equipment, because, of course, goalies have very different equipment. So, as if I didn't have enough stinky hockey equipment taking up space in my basement, now we have these lovely pads to add to his collection. We decided to play with them the night he got them, because, well, once they have been used and have that hockey stench they are not allowed back in my living room - EVER!

So, what goes just above Joel's knees, is like full body armor for Anna
Anna thought I was a riot. And I couldn't move in them to get away
from the camera, so I figured I would just make a hockey face instead :-) Yup, the glove is pretty much as big as Simon!

Aren't they sweet!

If only they always got along this well!

Mother's Day

Today I was treated to breakfast in bed - cinnamon rolls and OJ and a flower from our garden completed the tray. I ended up taking it downstairs to eat because, well, you try to eat off a tray in bed with two children bouncing all over the place :-)

I got a beautiful bracelet from my wonderful husband and he helped the kids paint little wooden boxes for me - very cute! Simon does keep taking my box - it has his handprint on the top, so he is quite certain that it is HIS and he gets pretty mad when we put it away.

I also got to read the paper (okay the ads are all I really read) while drinking my favorite coffee/chocolate beverage from Beaners and Joel cooked me a yummy steak dinner.

Personally, I think it should be Mother's day at least once a month! Don't you? :-)

40th Anniversary!

Jen's parents celebrated their 40th wedding annivesary today! We all got dressed up and went out for a yummy dinner together. We tried not to wreak too much havoc on the restaurant with our 3 high maintenance children, but, well, we tried :-)

Aren't they cute!

Grandma and 2 of her grand-kiddos Thankfully, the restaurant had chalkboard walls - a total life-saver! Anna had so much fun coloring on the walls. And thankfully, this hasn't carried over into our house :-)

Soccer Star

Anna is playing soccer again this Spring - it is actually a continuation of the season that started in the Fall. She is really having fun and is getting pretty good, if I do say so myself. It is amazing how much more coordinated she is just from the fall and how much more she "gets it". She is in the youngest league, so they just play 3 on 3 and it usually just a mass of girls chasing the ball in the pinkest of pink jerseys I have ever seen.

Yes, the tongue is almost always hanging out :-)

Simon wants to play SOOOO badly! It just kills him that there
are all these balls flying around that he cannot play with.
